TRAINING IN YOUR WORKPLACE
INTRODUCTION TO RETURN-TO-WORK COORDINATION
This WorkCover accredited two-day course is a must for those responsible for the management of injured employees and other workers compensation issues.
Larger employers (base tariff premium exceeding $50,000) are required by law to have a nominated Return to Work Coordinator who is trained in this course. However, all workplaces can reap enormous benefits through gaining the knowledge of how workers compensation “works” and the most effective ways to reduce costs arising from workplace injuries.

ADVANCED RETURN-TO-WORK COORDINATION
WorkCover has recently revised this course to provide a single day of intensive learning for the more experienced Return to Work Coordinators. Participants will have ample opportunity in a small group setting to gain practical skills in managing the more ‘complex’ injury management and return to work issues.
Return to Work Coordinators will leave with a broad range of strategies to both prevent and overcome ‘stuck cases’, and this will translate to real cost savings for your workplace.

PSYCHOLOGICAL WORKPLACE INJURIES - ESSENTIAL SKILLS FOR RETURN-TO-WORK COORDINATORS
Psychological workplace injuries (more commonly known as ‘stress claims’) are often seen as difficult to manage effectively, and are contributing to growing workers compensation premiums for many employers.
This does not have to be so! Learn in a small group setting the essential skills for managing workplace psychological injuries quickly and effectively. Participants will leave with clear strategies on how they can confidently manage workers with psychological injuries, how they can address the barriers, and to get them back to work again.

TRAINING IN YOUR WORKPLACE
We specialise in creating or modifying training to suit your exact needs.
Services Independent Injury Solutions now offers
Here are some recent examples...
MANUAL HANDLING RISK ASSESSMENTS ‘TOOL BOX’ FOR EMPLOYERS
Manual Handling this is the most common cause of workplace injuries. There is so much information available on identifying, assessing and controlling risks arising from manual handling, yet despite this wealth of resources, many employers are at a loss on where to start when it comes to Manual Handling Risk Assessment.
This training has therefore been developed to address this common concern, and is tailored toward OHS representatives, OHS committee members, and others responsible for managing risks in their workplace. Participants will be guided in a practical way through the essential foundations of risk assessment. They will learn all about manual handling, and will have plenty of opportunities to conduct ‘real’ risk assessments of manual handling problems in their own workplace.

MANUAL HANDLING TRAINING THE ONE-AND-ONLY ‘BACK TO BACK’ TRAINING COURSE
This competency based training course was developed by Independent Injury Solutions and has been used to train thousands of employees across New South Wales!!
The secret of its success is the practical, fun learning opportunities for participants. They leave with solid skills in identifying and controlling manual handling hazards, and better techniques for any manual handling situation.
Most importantly, the training is 100% relevant because it is conducted in your workplace, and this gives you, the employer, the best return on your training dollar.

STRESS MANAGEMENT FOR THE WORKPLACE
Ineffective management of stress in the workplace, is a leading cause of employee absenteeism, low morale, lost productivity and psychological injury claims (‘stress claims’), and employers need to be mindful of these potentially destructive results.
This half day course is designed to increase the awareness of stress in the workplace. Staff from all levels of the organisation learn how to assess their workplace, and identify where stress is having an impact on morale, productivity and health.
Participants leave the training with specific strategies to apply to prevent stress-related injuries and other signs of poorly managed stress in the workplace.

OFFICE WORKSTATIONS THE HIDDEN CULPRIT
Office workstations are often the ‘second home’ for many employees, who may spend the majority of every working day sitting at their computer.
This might not seem like physically demanding work, yet the incidence of ‘aches & pains’ and therefore lost productivity and even injury is surprisingly high in many workplaces.
Be pro-active ! Give your workstations a once-over with the help of Independent Injury Solutions and see how employee productivity and risk of injury can be significantly improved.

‘SUPER STRETCHES’ -TO PREVENT OVERUSE INJURIES IN YOUR WORKPLACE
Occupational Overuse Syndrome (also known as RSI) is a condition often experienced by workers who perform repetitive actions as part of their work.
Research shows the ‘aches & pains’ and even injuries resulting from repetitive work tasks can be reduced by up to half through regular stretching ! And it doesn’t have to disrupt the workflow either.
Independent Injury Solutions specialise in designing simple yet effective stretching programs for repetitive work environments.

EMPLOYEE WELLNESS PROGRAMS
Working environments have changed dramatically over the past 50 years to produce a workforce that is far more productive than in any other era.
In achieving all of these commercial and economic successes, humans have been the casualty in that they work longer hours, often have sedentary mechanised jobs, are fatigued or stressed, have less leisure time, less time for sports or exercise, and ultimately do not look after themselves.
This contributes to diminished health for the worker and eventually manifests to become a burden on employers and society at large in huge health costs.
We are helping employers to counteract this unhealthy trend by providing in-house Wellness Programs, addressing directly the health risks faced by employees, to create measurable cost savings in areas such as employee absenteeism, morale, retention, and injuries.
Give us a call to discuss how your workplace could benefit from a Wellness Program.
